The PIN allocation server automatically knows the DVD the viewer is attempting to watch and bills the viewer directly on their mobile phone. The viewer receives the correct PIN for their DVD as a text message on their mobile handset, this can be stored as a reminder of the PIN for any future use. Premium SMS can be configured to verify the age of the user and restrict access to 18 certificated content from minors.

Premium rate services provide a familiar and widely accepted payment method for viewers to pay for and obtain their unique PIN. The viewer uses their landline telephone, mobile phone or public pay phone to call the DVDpay™ PIN allocation server. The PIN allocation server automatically knows the DVD the viewer is attempting to watch and automatically adjusts the call time for the viewer to ensure that the PIN is fully charged to the viewer before reading the viewer their unique PIN. Whilst the viewer is waiting for their payment to be taken they can be given further information on forthcoming titles or instructions on how to operate the DVD.

Fully automated credit card processing provides an accessible and age verified payment method for viewers. Using their mobile handset or landline the viewer can call the DVDpay™ PIN allocation server which will automatically process the card details then verify payment and authenticity in real time whilst the viewer is on the line. Following successful verification the PIN allocation server will read back the viewer's unique PIN and provide any further instructions necessary.
